P+R Plus in Apeldoorn

At the request of the Municipality of Apeldoorn (approx. 170.000 inhabitants), Advier conducted a feasibility study on the development of Park&Ride Plus. This study highlighted three potential areas, each supported by a comprehensive vision, stakeholder analysis, and an assessment of opportunities and risks. For each location, a conceptual artist’s impression was created to visualise the intended functionalities.

Setting the direction

To determine the success factors for the P+R Plus, Advier worked closely with the municipality to clarify the hub’s primary function. Should it act as a gateway for visitors, allowing them to park on the outskirts and continue their journey sustainably? Or should it offer a solution to inner-city densification by providing an alternative to personal car use? The discussion was enriched using various tools, such as personas and scenarios that illustrated potential use cases.

“Working together with all relevant disciplines within a municipality, ensures integrated thinking and action.”

Identifying Key Locations

Based on this analysis, Advier identified several promising locations. These were evaluated in a workshop with all relevant municipal departments, focusing on their feasibility. Three locations were selected for further development, with plans for immediate action.
